Phoenix - S01
火の鳥・ヤマト編
Oguna, the youngest prince of Yamato, is sent by his father to assassinate Takeru Kawakami, the leader of Kumaso. During his journey into Kumaso’s lands, he is accidentally wounded by an arrow from Kajika, a young woman hunting in the forest. Guilt-ridden, she takes him to her village to heal his injury. As they grow closer, Oguna is horrified to learn that Kajika is Takeru’s sister. Torn between his love for Kajika and his duty to his family, Oguna turns to the Phoenix, Kumaso’s mythical guardian, for guidance. Now forced to choose, he must decide whether to defy his father’s orders for the woman he loves or carry out his mission and kill Kajika’s brother. Based on the legend of Yamato Takeru, "Hi no Tori: Yamato-hen" tells the tragic tale of a doomed romance, proving that love can endure even in the face of hatred and impossible choices.
