In the distant future, the sun's intense radiation has ravaged Earth's environment, and humanity's birthrate has plummeted. Society is governed by an army of cloned soldiers known as "Ideal Children" (IC). Sam Coyne, a desert trader, rescues a woman named Maya after she’s pursued by Theseus, a squad of IC. He takes her aboard his trade ship, but soon finds himself and Maya trapped as Theseus’s forces close in around them.
