Jirou Yakuin, a third-year high school student, has a crush on his childhood friend and classmate, Shiori Sakurazaka. He hopes the school’s "marriage practical"-a program where randomly paired boy-girl couples pretend to be married and are scored on their closeness-will finally bring them together. Meanwhile, the energetic Akari Watanabe dreams of being matched with her crush, the handsome and popular Minami Tenjin. To their frustration, Jirou and Akari end up paired with each other, while Shiori and Minami are assigned as another couple. Desperate to be with their real crushes, Jirou and Akari decide to work hard to earn as many points as they can. The top 10 pairs get the chance to switch partners-but only if both couples agree.
