Matoi the Sacred Slayer

Matoi Sumeragi just wants an ordinary life, far from attention. She's content splitting her time between school and working part-time at her best friend Yuma Kusanagi's family shrine. But everything changes when a Night-a malicious creature from another dimension-attacks the shrine. Without meaning to, Matoi taps into the power of a god, the sworn enemies of the Nights, and manages to repel the threat. Soon after, Matoi and Yuma are joined by Claris Tonitolus, a seasoned exorcist from the Vatican, and Haruka Luciela, an agent from the shadowy Night-fighting organization IATO. Though the reason behind these attacks remains a mystery, Matoi must learn to control her unexpected abilities if she hopes to shield her loved ones-and the peaceful life she cherishes-from the dangers closing in.
