Macross Zero - S01

Set one year before the Zentraedi reach Earth, "Macross Zero" follows the closing days of the conflict between the U.N. Spacy and anti-U.N. forces. After ace pilot Shin Kudo is shot down by the anti-U.N.'s advanced fighter, he washes up on the isolated island of Mayan, a place with almost no technology. As Shin recovers from his injuries, the island's peace is broken when the U.N.'s cutting-edge fighter, the VF-0, becomes embroiled in battle.
