Chisato Takatsukasa is a 35-year-old novelist who looks so young he could pass for someone in his early twenties. He draws inspiration from his idol, the acclaimed mystery writer Saki Shunka-a woman as elusive as the stories she crafts. Despite his gentle demeanor, Chisato is fiercely overprotective of his 15-year-old son, Riju. He sees every friend Riju invites over as a potential threat, convinced they're just waiting to take advantage of his boy. Determined to keep them away, Chisato goes to absurd lengths to scare them off-no tactic is too extreme. Yet the one person he despises most is Shunsuke Sakaki, Riju's stubborn best friend, who refuses to be chased off no matter what Chisato does. But beneath the surface, hidden motives linger.
