In Edo-era Japan, where countless sword-fighting styles flourish, Shichika Yasuri masters the rarest of them all: Kyotouryuu, a martial art that treats the practitioner's body as a living blade. As the seventh and enigmatic successor of this school, he lives a secluded life with his sister Nanami-until the cunning strategist Togame disrupts their solitude. Togame boldly asks Shichika to aid her quest to gather twelve extraordinary swords, called the "Deviant Blades," for the shogunate. Though indifferent to political schemes, Shichika agrees, drawn more to Togame herself than her mission. Their journey pits them against the skilled wielders of these legendary weapons, as well as rival factions determined to stop Togame. To overcome these threats, the pair must learn to fight as one, facing danger and uncertainty at every turn.
