Hatena Illusion - S01

Long ago, numerous magical "Artifacts" were stolen and lost across the world. Falling into the wrong hands, they brought misfortune to those who misused their power. The Hoshisato family, magicians with a unique connection to the Artifacts, has made it their duty to recover them. Kana "Hatena" Hoshisato, though still inexperienced, is determined to help her parents, Mamoru and Maeve, in their mission while working hard to improve her skills. Her childhood friend, Makoto Shiranui, arrives at their mansion to study magic under her father, honoring a promise they made years ago. Hatena is thrilled to reunite with him-until she discovers that the "girl" she remembered is actually a boy, souring their reunion. Soon, Makoto learns the truth about the Artifacts and the Hoshisatos' secret work. Undeterred, he remains committed to his goals: mastering magic to soothe the pain of others and, above all, proving himself worthy of standing by Hatena's side.
