Haibane Renmei - S01

A young Haibane-a winged being with a halo-awakens inside a cocoon in the village of Old Home, with no memory of her past. She is named Rakka after the falling dream she had before emerging. Though she slowly adjusts to life in this unfamiliar place, the Haibane live under strict rules: they cannot leave the village or approach the walls that enclose it. Even more unsettling are the disappearances of some Haibane on their so-called "Day of Flight." Rakka and the others know little about their own kind, leaving them uneasy. As they live without memories of who they once were, the Haibane struggle to move beyond their hidden pain, searching for a way to find peace.
