Girly Air Force - S01

Kei Narutani and his childhood friend, Song Minghua, are Chinese refugees fleeing the Zai, a shadowy group wreaking havoc across their homeland. During their escape to Japan, they’re rescued by an unusual red aircraft. Intrigued by the plane, Kei meets its pilot-a girl known as an "Anima," who controls a special type of aircraft called a "Daughter." She calls herself Gripen, a charming JAS-39F fighter jet. Kei grows close to her and is soon enlisted by the Japan Self-Defense Force to help Gripen with her struggles in flight. They’re later joined by Eagle, a laid-back F-15J-ANM, and Phantom, a dignified RF-4EJ-ANM, forming a squadron united to defend humanity. As the last hope against the encroaching Zai, the five of them take up arms to fight back against the alien threat.
