Giant Killing - S01

East Tokyo United (ETU) has spent the last few years barely clinging to their place in Japan's top soccer league, fighting just to stay afloat. Their situation grows even more dire after losing five straight matches, crushing team spirit. Fans are starting to turn away, and whispers suggest the local government may pull its backing. With a revolving door of coaches and questionable player signings draining their funds, ETU's decline seems unstoppable. Under pressure from general manager Kousei Gotou, the board makes a risky move: hiring Takeshi Tatsumi as their new coach. Tatsumi, once a standout player, left ETU years ago, earning him the scorn of fans. But since then, he's built a reputation for success managing an amateur team in England's lower leagues. Tatsumi faces an uphill battle-ETU's supporters see him as a turncoat, and the team is outmatched by wealthier, more talented rivals. Still, he insists he knows how to topple giants, and even the smallest underdog can defy the odds.
