In 2014, Akira Natsume is hit by a truck and falls into a coma. Sixteen years later, he wakes up inside a machine and meets police officer Minami Uezono and her android partner, Alma. They reveal his brain is now housed in an EX-ARM-a dangerous weapon of mass destruction. Trapped on an enemy smuggler ship, the three must rely on their wits and combat abilities to escape. At first hesitant to fight, Akira remembers his brother's words before the accident, spurring him into action. He takes control of Alma's body, using martial arts to battle their foes. When Alma connects him to the ship's systems, Akira unlocks the full power of his EX-ARM, effortlessly hacking and seizing control of the vessel. After returning safely to land, Akira joins the EX-ARM Countermeasure Prevention Team, a police unit dedicated to stopping EX-ARM-related threats. Seeing the destruction caused by those who seek these weapons, he vows to help end the terror they bring.
