DARLING in the FRANXX - S01

In the distant future, humanity teeters on the brink of extinction, hunted by colossal creatures called Klaxosaurs. The last survivors hide in massive fortified cities known as Plantations, where children are raised solely to pilot giant mechas called FranXX-the only weapons capable of fighting the Klaxosaurs. These children, trained in boy-girl pairs, know nothing of life beyond their purpose: to defend what remains of their species. Hiro once dreamed of becoming a FranXX pilot, but after failing an aptitude test, he loses all confidence. He skips his class' graduation and wanders to a forest lake, where he meets a strange girl with two horns-Zero Two, a notorious pilot nicknamed the "Partner Killer." Before he can process the encounter, a Klaxosaur attacks the Plantation. Zero Two fights it in her FranXX, but the machine is crippled in battle and crashes near Hiro. With her previous partner dead, she offers Hiro a chance to join her in the cockpit. Together, they defeat the Klaxosaur with ease. Though this victory gives Hiro a shot at redemption, he can't shake the question: what price will he pay for this new partnership?
