Junpei Murao first fell in love with ballet as a child after seeing a male dancer’s powerful performance at his sister’s recital. But he dreads the idea of his classmates discovering his secret passion, fearing they’ll see him as unmanly. To avoid judgment, he keeps up a tough image-playing soccer, training in Jeet Kune Do, and aiming to become a stunt coordinator like his father, all "manly" pursuits. When his classmate Miyako Godai notices him showing off a kick that blends ballet and martial arts, she insists he join her mother’s ballet studio. Junpei resists at first-he’s long since buried his ballet dreams, even though nothing else makes him feel the same exhilaration. But after years of suppressing his love for dance, shedding his insecurities and defying expectations isn’t easy. To truly embrace ballet, he’ll have to risk losing friends and face the sacrifices that come with fully committing to his passion.
