Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 - S01

After a massive earthquake leaves Tokyo in ruins, the city is quickly rebuilt thanks to humanoid robots called "boomers." These machines now serve as cheap labor, controlled by the powerful Genom Corporation, whose reach has even expanded into space. But the boomers aren't as reliable as they seem. Some malfunction, their neural systems breaking down in violent outbursts that leave destruction and death in their wake. To counter this threat, Tokyo establishes the Advanced Police, a specialized force handling boomer-related incidents. Whispers also circulate about a shadowy vigilante group-the Knight Sabers-operating outside the law. Eager to uncover the truth about the Knight Sabers, Linna Yamazaki arrives in Tokyo, drawn by their legend. She soon crosses paths with Priscilla Asagiri, a mysterious singer; Sylia Stingray, a poised businesswoman; and Nene Romanova, a lively young woman, each with their own reasons for being involved. As tensions rise, the group begins to suspect that the boomer crisis runs far deeper than anyone realized.
