Brynhildr in the Darkness
As a child, Murakami had a close friend he nicknamed Kuroneko. One day, while trying to convince him that aliens were real, she died in an accident that he narrowly escaped. Haunted by guilt over his part in what happened, he vows to spend his life proving aliens exist. Years later, a strange new student named Kuroha Neko-who bears an uncanny resemblance to Kuroneko-joins his class, bringing with her unexplained abilities.
