Box of Goblins - S01

Yoriko Kusumoto, a distracted schoolgirl, is deeply infatuated with Kanako Yuzuki. Their summer trip plans are shattered when Kanako is discovered badly injured on train tracks, with Yoriko weeping on the platform. Shuutarou Kiba, a detective who was on the train that struck Kanako, begins investigating the incident. He soon finds the case tangled in a web of lies surrounding the Yuzuki family, particularly its most famous member-actress Youko Yuzuki, Kanako's sister. Though Kanako survives surgery, her condition remains critical. Youko entrusts Dr. Koushirou Mimasaka with her care in a strange, box-like facility deep in the woods, where she undergoes experimental treatment. But when Kiba and Yoriko visit her one night, Kanako mysteriously vanishes. As Kiba searches for her, the case grows darker with the discovery of young girls' limbs inside boxes. A colleague hints that these grisly findings connect not only to Kanako's disappearance but also to hidden truths about Youko. With the help of his partners, Tatsumi Sekiguchi and Akihiko Chuuzenji, Kiba must untangle the crimes and find Kanako before it's too late.
