In 2157, the Gingarou Hotel stands empty in Ginza, Tokyo-a once-luxurious destination now devoid of guests. Long ago, humanity fled Earth’s poisoned skies, leaving behind the hotel and its staff of hospitality robots. Yachiyo, the robot "acting manager," still carries out her duties with unwavering dedication, maintaining the hotel alongside her dwindling crew. Over time, many of her fellow machines have broken down, their parts beyond repair. Yet Yachiyo keeps working, upholding the promise she made to the hotel’s owner before he left. She clings to the hope that humans will return someday-and that she’ll see her old friend once more.
