Angel Beats! - S01

Death has always been one of life's greatest mysteries, leaving humanity to wonder what comes after. For 17-year-old Yuzuru Otonashi, that question is unexpectedly answered when he awakens in a strange realm between life and death-with no memory of his past. Here, the afterlife takes the form of a high school, a place meant for those who died with unresolved regrets. Resentful of their untimely deaths, the school’s inhabitants have formed the Afterlife Battlefront, a rebellious group led by Yuri Nakamura. Their goal is to defy Kanade "Angel" Tachibana, the student council president who holds god-like authority over them. Drawn into their struggle, Otonashi joins their fight to seize control of their own fate. But as doubts grow about their methods, he begins to question their motives-and seeks the truth behind Angel’s side of the conflict.
