After working up the nerve to propose to a girl in an online game, the awkward otaku Hideki "Rusian" Nishimura is crushed when she rejects him-only to reveal she’s actually an older man in real life. Heartbroken and humiliated, Rusian vows never to trust another girl in an online game again. Years later, he joins a guild with three other players, including one with a female avatar named Ako, who is hopelessly in love with him. Though suspicious she might be a guy, Rusian agrees to her marriage proposal, joking that her real gender doesn’t matter as long as she’s cute in-game. But when the guild decides to meet in person, Rusian is shocked to discover Ako isn’t just a girl-she’s also his classmate.
