Takuya Oohara and Rika Honjouji, two quiet coworkers at a Tokyo travel agency, are perfectly content with their single lives. After hours, they retreat to their personal comforts-Takuya relaxing with his cat, Rika poring over maps. But their peaceful routines are threatened when their company announces plans to open an Alaskan branch in a year and transfer an unmarried employee there. By chance, Takuya and Rika cross paths on a day off. Though they’ve never spoken before, they confide in each other about their shared dread of relocation. Inspired by Takuya’s similar worries, Rika suggests a bold plan: fake an engagement for the next 365 days. Takuya agrees, unaware that their pretend relationship might slowly reshape the very lives they’re trying to protect.
