Venus, the goddess of beauty, resents a young human girl named Psyche for her surpassing beauty. She blames Psyche’s pet unicorn, Unico, for protecting the girl from her spiteful schemes with his inexplicable ability to bring joy to those around him-whether through his kind nature or the magic of his horn. Enraged, Venus exiles Unico, and the West Wind carries him across time and space. He lands in a grimy, smog-choked city where he meets Chiko, a frail girl suffering from the toxic fumes of a nearby factory that blots out the sun. Determined to lift her spirits, Unico sets out to heal her and bring down the factory poisoning her home.
