"Ultimate Muscle: The Kinnikuman Legacy," called "Kinnikuman II sei" in Japan, is a manga and anime series created by Yoshinori Nakai and Takashi Shimada, who write under the name Yudetamago. It serves as a sequel to their popular 1979 manga, "Kinnikuman." The original "Kinnikuman" toy line was marketed in North America as "M.U.S.C.L.E.," and the title "Ultimate Muscle" was used to tie the anime to the Americanized version of the 1980s toy series. Bandai occasionally released related toys alongside the show during its original broadcast.
