The Tree In Sunlight
In the mid-1800s, a young doctor trained in Western medicine crosses paths with a samurai struggling to uphold his class's fading traditions. Their story is inspired by real historical figures-the doctor, Ryo-an, was the great-grandfather of manga legend Osamu Tezuka. The manga was later adapted into an anime by Madhouse Studios and aired on NTV in Japan starting April 4, 2000.
