The Stranger by the Shore
Shun Hashimoto is a gay writer in Okinawa, working toward his dream of becoming a novelist. His parents cut ties with him after he came out, leaving him to build a life on his own. Mio Chibana is a quiet high school student who grew up without parents, often wandering the shoreline alone. When the two meet on the beach one day, Shun is immediately drawn to him. They spend their days growing closer-until Mio abruptly tells Shun he has to move away to the mainland. Three years later, Mio, now 20, returns to Okinawa to confess his love. But Shun's life has shifted in that time. Can he open his heart to Mio again, or have things changed too much for them to start over?
