Ichinomiya Kantarou has always been able to see demons, but his ability made him an outcast, shunned and bullied by those who couldn’t. Instead of humans, he found companionship with the demons themselves, growing deeply attached to them. One day, he heard stories of the most powerful demon of all-the ogre-eating Tengu. Stunned by tales of its unmatched strength, Kantarou swore to find this legendary being, naming it Haruka in his mind. Though he searched for years, he never found it, eventually making a living as a folklore writer and part-time demon hunter. Then, during a tough job, he finally got a lead: rumors pointed to a nearby shrine where the ogre-eating Tengu might be sealed away.
