Descending Stories - S02

The special editions of the manga’s 7th and 8th volumes include this story. After his release from prison, one man knows exactly where to go. Having fallen in love with a traditional comic storyteller’s performance of "Shinigami," he sets out to become the man’s apprentice. The storyteller, Yakumo, has never taken a student before-yet, to everyone’s surprise, he agrees, dubbing the eager ex-convict "Yotaro." As Yotaro settles into his new life, he meets others in Yakumo’s circle, including Konatsu, Yakumo’s ward. Konatsu is the daughter of a renowned storyteller, taken in by Yakumo after her father’s untimely death. Though she adores her father’s craft and dreams of performing herself, the path of a storyteller is closed to women.
