Shibawanko's Spirit of Wa
This story is based on a Japanese children’s book by Yoshie Kawaura. It follows Shiba-wanko, a kind and diligent Shiba Inu dog, and Miike-nyanko, a moody calico cat who isn’t fond of chores. They share a traditional Japanese-style home with a tokonoma alcove. While Shiba-wanko handles the cleaning, laundry, and cooking, Miike-nyanko has a more carefree attitude. Together, they learn about Japanese customs, like how to welcome guests, prepare for New Year’s, or appreciate wearing a kimono. Each chapter explores a different aspect of "Wa"-the spirit of peace and harmony in Japanese life-as they experience the seasons together.
