Sarazanmai

Three middle schoolers-Kazuki, Toi, and Enta-accidentally shatter a statue of Asakusa’s guardian god and are turned into kappas (mythical water spirits) by Keppi, who claims to be the prince of the Kappa Kingdom. To become human again, they must gather the five Dishes of Hope, artifacts that grant the wishes of their holders. Their task pits them against kappa-zombies, from whom they must extract "shirikodama," the organ holding a person’s deepest desires. Behind the chaos are two policemen, Reo and Mabu, who serve the Otter Empire-an ancient enemy of the Kappa Kingdom. Operating under the front "Kappazon, Inc.," they turn people into zombies, exploiting their desires to control society. To complete their mission, the boys must perform the "Sarazanmai," a ritual that forces them to confront their most personal secrets and forge a deeper bond.
