Now and Then, Here and There
Shu is an ordinary Japanese boy with an unshakably positive and stubborn spirit. His life takes a bizarre turn when he spots a mysterious girl named Lala-Ru, with eerie eyes, perched on a smokestack. Before he knows it, he’s dragged into a harsh desert world where he witnesses the horrors of war-genocide, torture, starvation, and the exploitation of children. Now, Shu is determined to rescue Lala-Ru and his newfound, often reluctant allies from the clutches of the mad dictator Hamdo. But whether he can save them without compromising his own ideals is far from certain.
