Morgonstjärnan

In the year 2201, the Yamato returns from its brutal conflict with Emperor Zordar and the Comet Empire. Sanada, Aihara, and Shima, now discharged from the hospital, visit Okita’s memorial to honor their fallen comrades. There, they meet Tasuke, Tokugawa’s son, who announces his plans to join the Yamato’s crew after graduating from cadet school. At his graduation the following day, Tasuke accidentally overturns a boat full of new cadets-all too distracted by the sight of the Yamato to pay attention to their steering. The Yamato’s departure is delayed when the inexperienced engine crew flips the wrong switches, stalling the ship. Once underway, the crew sets out on what should have been a routine training mission.
