Monkey Turn

Kenji Hatano once dreamed of becoming a baseball superstar, but he grew frustrated with how a single player’s mistake could drag down the entire team. When his principal introduces him to kyotei (hydroboat) racing and he witnesses the daring "Monkey Turn" maneuver, Kenji is hooked. After a failed attempt at the turn capsizes his boat, he makes up his mind to pursue kyotei racing professionally. Two years later, he graduates from the Yamato Training School and vows to his friend Sumi Ubukata that he’ll become Japan’s top kyotei racer within three years.
