"Hakugei: Legend of the Moby Dick" is a Japanese anime series that reimagines Herman Melville's classic novel "Moby-Dick" in a futuristic space setting. Instead of whales, the story revolves around massive abandoned spaceships. The show aired between 1997 and 1999, though it went on hiatus from November 1997 to October 1998. It consists of 26 episodes, which were later released on DVD in the US by ADV Films across six discs.
