Generator Gawl

Generator Gawl is a 12-episode anime series from 1998. The story takes place in 2007, where Professor Takuma Nekasa discovers a genetic code that could reveal humanity's deepest secrets-but also unleash its greatest danger. To fix this mistake, three young scientists from the future-Gawl, Koji, and Ryo-travel back in time. They meant to arrive a full year before the disaster, but instead find themselves just three months before it happens. While working to save the world, they face Ryuko Saito, a brilliant but secretive scientist who wants the future to remain unchanged. Saito is aided by the Generators, inhuman assassins disguised as people. As Ryo and Koji focus on their mission, Gawl must "generate"-transforming into something like his enemies to fight them on their own terms.
