Future Police Urashiman

"Mirai Keisatsu Urashiman" is a Japanese sci-fi manga series created by Hirohisa Soda, with artwork by Noboru Akashi and published by Akita Shoten. The story was adapted into an anime TV series in 1983 by Tatsunoko Productions, airing on Fuji TV from January 9 to December 24 of that year. The show was later released internationally under different titles: "Rock'n Cop" in Germany and Sweden, "Super Durand" in France, and "Ryo, un ragazzo contro un impero" in Italy. Saban Entertainment had plans to bring the series to the U.S. as "Rockin' Cops," but the release never happened. A film adaptation was also considered but ultimately shelved.
