Long ago, mages and heroic spirits fought in the Holy Grail War in the town of Fuyuki. But during the chaos of World War II, one mage stole the Holy Grail. Decades later, the Yggdmillennia family, who adopted the Grail as their symbol, broke away from the Mages' Association. Enraged, the Association sent forces to punish them but were overpowered. Now, with the Holy Grail system altered, a war unlike any before erupts.
