Naral Island is a land of swords and magic where humans and monsters live together. The fearsome Demon King rules there. Long ago, the first hero defeated him, but over the generations, the Demon King keeps returning-and so does a new hero to oppose him. A school trains young adventurers, including girls like Yusha and her friends, to face the Demon King when he rises again. Yusha has the potential of a hero, though she’s a little scatterbrained. Seyla, the holy elf, is overly serious and always dealing with problems. Fai, the cheerful warrior, has an endless appetite. Mei, the quiet magician, prefers her books and hobbies. Together, these four aim to join the hero’s party-but despite their dreams, their laid-back fantasy lives show no progress toward actually defeating the Demon King, no matter how much time goes by.
