Distant Shores

"Distant Shores" is an adventure travel TV series produced by Shard Multimedia Inc. and aired in more than 50 countries. It follows the sailing journeys of a couple, Sheryl and Paul Shard, aboard their boat. Before the show began, the Shards created two videos: "Cruising the Bahamas" and "Transatlantic Crossing." They also documented the construction of their homemade yacht, the Classic 37 Two-Step. In seasons one through three, the couple sails the Mediterranean in Two-Step. Season four takes them to the Middle East, where they visit Cyprus, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, and Egypt. In season five, they travel through Italy, Sicily, and Malta before selling Two-Step. They then search for a new boat, attending the London Boat Show and testing a catamaran in the Virgin Islands. Eventually, they purchase a Southerly 42 named "Distant Shores," sailing it from England to the Caribbean and the Bahamas via Madeira and the Canary Islands. The boat's shallow draft allowed them to explore places other vessels couldn't reach.
