Reports of monsters attacking the reactor at Mount Nibel prompt the Shinra Electric Power Company to send their elite unit, SOLDIER, to investigate. Sephiroth, a celebrated war hero, is assigned to inspect the Mako reactor alongside fellow First Class SOLDIER Zack Fair and a handful of company guards. While in Nibelheim, the village that relies on the reactor's power, Sephiroth uncovers the truth behind the creatures and the dark history of Shinra's infamous Jenova Project. Months later, Zack is on the run, far from the hero he once aspired to be. Pursued by Shinra's General Affairs Department-better known as the Turks-he struggles to escape as they hunt him down, determined to erase the dangerous secrets he carries.
